Edem TENGUE

(Togo First) - Edem Kokou TENGUE's curricula, both academic and professional, command admiration and respect. After spending several years as the head of Maersk Togo, he was recently appointed minister of maritime Economy, fisheries, and coastal protection. A graduate of Sciences Po Paris, the University of Birmingham, the prestigious Imperial College London, and Harvard Business School, he is an expert in the maritime industry. 

Trained from 2003 to 2005 in Copenhagen by the Maersk Group, he became the assistant to the CFO of the group's regional office, which covers all of Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland) and the Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania). After some years, TENGUE was sent back home to take over the financial management of Maersk's three subsidiaries there: Maersk Togo S.A., Damco Togo S.A., and Lomé Terminal service. At the time, the world's leading shipping company was in the starting-block to take over the handling activities at the Port of Lomé.

Edem TENGUE is an associate member of the CIMA Order of Management Accounting Experts. In 2017, he was one of the 20 Young Leaders of the French African foundation. The next year, Choiseul ranked him among the Young Economic Leaders of Tomorrow, a ranking that includes eminent figures such as French President, Emmanuel Macron.

In December 2019, he was elected President of the Professional Association of Shipping and Ship Consignment Companies in Togo (NAVI-TOGO).
