(Togo First) - Kokou Gabiam is a prominent figure in Togo’s microfinance sector. For several years, he has been one of the country’s leading figures in financial inclusion.
He serves as chief executive of COOPEC-AD (Assemblies of God Savings and Credit Cooperatives), Togo’s second-largest decentralized financial system after FUCEC-Togo. Since 2022, he has also chaired the board of the Professional Association of Decentralized Financial Systems of Togo (APSFD-Togo).
At COOPEC-AD, Gabiam has led a strategy focused on expanding the institution’s presence in both urban and rural areas, broadening access to financial services for thousands of people across Togo. His commitment to developing the microfinance sector earned him the Ecofinance Gold Award in 2024, recognizing his contribution to financial inclusion and the professionalization of the sector.
As chairman of APSFD-Togo, Gabiam represents the interests of the country’s 63 licensed microfinance institutions. In this role, he has promoted dialogue with public authorities and worked to strengthen the sector’s regulatory and institutional framework.
Through his leadership of COOPEC-AD and APSFD-Togo, Gabiam has become one of the leading figures in Togo’s microfinance sector. His work continues to support broader access to financial services while contributing to the development and professionalization of the country’s decentralized financial system.
