(Togo First) - André Azibli is the chief executive of GTA Assurances IARD and GTA Assurances Vie, the Togolese insurance subsidiaries of the pan-African Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) Group.
Azibli holds a master’s degree in insurance from École Supérieure des Assurances in Paris, a master’s degree in marketing and international business, and a bachelor’s degree in business law. He has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance sector, where he has held several senior positions, including head of commercial and production departments, commercial director and chief executive.
As head of the two companies, he is pursuing a consolidation strategy in the Togolese insurance market, where about 10 insurers compete. GTA Assurances Vie says it holds a 31% market share and is the country’s leading life insurer.
His priorities include modernizing business processes, expanding the agency network and developing motor and health insurance products. Azibli is also focused on strengthening synergies between the two companies and deepening their local presence, in line with the BCP Group’s strategic priorities.
Founded in 1973, GTA Assurances is one of the longest-established insurers in the Togolese market. The company specializes in property and casualty insurance, liability insurance and group health insurance.
Azibli is well acquainted with the company, having served as commercial director from 2013 to 2021. His appointment as chief executive was officially announced on July 8, 2024. He succeeded Jean-Marie Tessi, who was appointed to the Togolese government.
