Over 1,200 Finance Ministry Recruits Set to Join Togo's Public Service on July 1

(Togo First) - More than 1,200 newly recruited civil servants are preparing to join Togo's public service. Selected by the Ministry of Finance and Budget through a competitive recruitment examination held in December 2024, the new officials are due to take up their posts on July 1.

Ahead of their induction, the recruits have been invited to an orientation session in Lomé organised by the ministry. The meeting is designed to introduce them to the workings of the public administration and to familiarise them with their responsibilities, as well as their rights and obligations as civil servants.

The new recruits come from a broad range of professional backgrounds, including finance administration, financial analysis, management control, financial auditing, taxation, statistics, and economic planning. The successful candidates also include econometricians, Treasury inspectors, macroeconomists, statistical engineers, banking and finance specialists, public procurement experts, and civil administrators.

They will be assigned to various departments and regions across the country, where they will help strengthen the financial administration's capabilities and support efforts to improve economic governance.

According to the Togolese authorities, the recruitment drive forms part of a broader strategy to expand the public sector workforce and enhance the quality of public administration by bringing in a wider range of technical expertise.
