Togo: Doufelgou 2 adopts CFA1.13 billion 5-year development plan

(Togo First) - The commune of Doufelgou 2 in northern Togo on Saturday approved its Municipal Development Plan (PDC), a five-year roadmap requiring an estimated investment of 1.13 billion CFA francs.

The plan covers priority areas including agriculture, environmental protection, education, healthcare, water supply, sanitation, socioeconomic infrastructure and local governance. It also includes measures to strengthen climate resilience and promote sustainable land management.

Municipal officials described the PDC as "not just an administrative document, but a genuine social contract between elected officials and the population." They said it aims to address the key development priorities of local communities.

The plan was prepared under a project aimed at strengthening national and regional capacities for climate risk management in Togo, with partial funding from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

With its adoption, Doufelgou 2 joins other Togolese municipalities that have introduced similar planning frameworks to guide local development.
