Ekoué Djro Glokpor Named BCEAO National Director for Togo

(Togo First) - The Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) has a new representative in Togo. Ekoué Djro Glokpor officially took office as the institution’s National Director for Togo and was introduced during the second ordinary session of the National Credit Council (CNC) for 2026, held in Lomé on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

It is an honor for me to accept this responsibility that has been entrusted to me. I fully understand the responsibilities that come with this position,” the new official said during the ceremony marking his assumption of office.

Focus on Financing the Real Economy

The appointment comes at a time when Togolese authorities are seeking to strengthen financing for the real economy, particularly for very small, small and medium-sized enterprises (VSMEs), agriculture and housing.

In Togo, the new National Director will be expected to work closely with the government, banks and financial institutions. Key priorities include monitoring credit conditions, supporting SME financing and advancing initiatives aimed at improving access to financial services.

A career BCEAO official, Glokpor succeeds Akuwa Dogbe Azoma. His career has taken him from the BCEAO’s National Directorate for Togo to several strategic positions at the institution’s headquarters in Dakar.

He has served as Director of Accounting, Director General of Organization and Information Systems, and Adviser to the Governor. His appointment brings back to Lomé a seasoned central banker with experience spanning financial management, institutional governance and digital transformation.
