After big enterprises, OTR now trains 400 medium enterprises to online declaration

(Togo First) - Togo’s revenue office (OTR), in the framework of its support to local firms with digitalization process, has launched a training programme on online declaration for medium enterprises. A first meeting was held in this regard on March 19-23, 2018 in the IT room of the customs and indirect taxation office (CDDI in French). Another workshop will take place next April 4^th, and closes on April 10^th. About 400 medium enterprises will benefit from the two workshops.

Top authorities of the Office, namely those in charge of taxpayers’ education, said this training on online tax declaration, is spurred by a desire to help medium enterprises easily declare and pay their taxes. They can do this by accessing OTR’s website: www.otr.tg. There, they can declare their taxes, get an issuance slips and payment receipts.

Two years ago, it was big Togolese enterprises, still on OTR’s initiative, that received the same training on online declaration. For these businesses, a revision workshop will be organized in the next days to get them more used to the procedure.

Indeed, after spending years in the lowest part of this ranking, the country now seeks to beat Rwanda which is the best performer on this index in Africa. To do so, Lomé has been introducing many reforms, with the latest batch implemented this year.
