Togo: Burkina Faso invited as special guest for the 15th edition of Lomé International fair

(Togo First) - The promoters of Lomé international fair (Foire Internationale de Lomé) announced on August 30, 2018, during a press conference that the 15^th edition of that fair will be held from November 23 to December 1, 2018. This year, Burkina Faso, Togo’s second largest client apart from Benin, is the special guest.

Placed under the theme: “La chaine de valeur vecteur économique du progress”, (value chain : a vector for economic progress), this trade and economic meeting will draw the two countries’ economic operators together, Bernadette Legzim-Balouki, Togo’s trade minister explained.

Over the years, Lomé International Fair qualified by WAEMU as the best fair in the sub-region has become the not-to-be-missed end of year event. It is the exhibitions, conferences, seminars, and roundtables opportunity for Togo and other participating countries’ economic operators.

B2B meetings are also planned to establish partnerships with the different exhibitionists. Some days have especially been set apart for African countries.

After moving from the 133rd to 127th place under the 2020 Doing Business’ construction permit index, Togo intends to reiterate this feat in the coming edition of the global ranking. To this end, it has introduced this year multiple reforms.

Over the past two years, Togo’s ranking under the Doing Business’ Getting electricity and water indicator has increased consistently. Out of all the 'Doing Business’ indicators, Property Registration is where Togo has improved the most since 2018. Indeed, after spending years in the lowest part of this ranking, the country now seeks to beat Rwanda which is the best performer on this index in Africa. To do so, Lomé has been introducing many reforms, with the latest batch implemented this year.
