University of Lomé strengthens internationalisation drive with Creighton University deal

(Togo First) - The University of Lomé (UL) signed a framework agreement with Creighton University on Friday. The Jesuit institution is based in Omaha, Nebraska.

The agreement was signed by UL President Kossivi Hounaké and Creighton University President Rev. Daniel Hendrickson. It provides for joint training and research programmes, student and faculty exchanges, and the organisation of academic events, including conferences and seminars.

According to officials from both institutions, the partnership is expected to promote the sharing of academic resources and the development of joint projects. The agreement also includes provisions on intellectual property protection and the confidentiality of information exchanged during research activities.

The five-year agreement, which can be renewed, is expected to expand academic and scientific cooperation and create new opportunities for students, researchers and faculty members.

The partnership forms part of the University of Lomé's internationalisation strategy, which seeks to broaden training, research and exchange opportunities through cooperation with foreign institutions.

The university has already signed several agreements with institutions around the world as it works to strengthen its international reputation and expand opportunities for the Togolese academic community.
