Togo Cabinet Finalizes 2026-2031 Roadmap, Eyes 2040 Development Targets

(Togo First) - Togo's cabinet opened a two-day government seminar on Thursday in Djamdè, in the Kozah prefecture. It is the second such gathering held since the start of the year.

The meeting, which brings together all cabinet members, focuses on the strategic priorities needed to accelerate the country's economic and social development over the coming years, with 2040 as the target year.

The working sessions center on finalizing the government's 2026-2031 roadmap. Participants will also examine the policy tools and drivers needed to double the average standard of living and reduce the poverty rate to below 15% by 2040.

The discussions are expected to improve policy coordination, inform the government's strategic choices, and identify the institutional and operational mechanisms required to ensure the effective and lasting implementation of reforms.

"Our national ambitions will only become reality when they translate into programs, financing, clear responsibilities and, above all, visible results for citizens," the President of the Council said, stressing the need for an integrated approach to development.

The seminar is part of the government's guiding framework, "Protect, Unite and Transform," which underpins its current agenda.
