Togo Extends Agro-Industry Support Program Application Deadline by One Month

(Togo First) - Very Small, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (TPMEs) in Togo’s agro-industrial sector seeking to benefit from a recently launched support program implemented by the Agency for the Development of Very Small, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (ADTPME) have been given additional time to apply.

The application deadline, initially set for June 17, has been extended to July 19, 2026. The call for expressions of interest aims to select 50 companies expected to play a key role in strengthening national agricultural value chains.

Selected businesses will help secure raw material supplies, process and market agricultural products, and contribute to the development of agro-industrial hubs across the country’s regions.

The targeted value chains include maize, soybean, cassava, rice, shea, pineapple and sesame. Other eligible sectors include cashew, fonio, aquaculture, poultry farming and beekeeping. The initiative is part of the Project to Support Young Entrepreneurs in Job-Creating Value Chains (PAJEC).

Launched in 2025 and backed by CFA 28 billion in financing secured with support from the African Development Bank (AfDB), the program aims to strengthen the competitiveness of TPMEs and improve their access to financing, markets and business skills.

According to criteria published by ADTPME, applicant companies must demonstrate formal business operations, have between two and three years of experience depending on their profile, and show evidence of established market access.

Selected businesses will receive technical and financial assistance designed to modernize their production tools and help them scale their operations. Applications may be submitted online or delivered to designated application drop-off points in Lomé, Kara, Dapaong and Kpalimé.

After moving from the 133rd to 127th place under the 2020 Doing Business’ construction permit index, Togo intends to reiterate this feat in the coming edition of the global ranking. To this end, it has introduced this year multiple reforms.

Out of all the 'Doing Business’ indicators, Property Registration is where Togo has improved the most since 2018. Indeed, after spending years in the lowest part of this ranking, the country now seeks to beat Rwanda which is the best performer on this index in Africa. To do so, Lomé has been introducing many reforms, with the latest batch implemented this year.
