Togo offers strong investment potential in West Africa, CCA chief says

(Togo First) - Togo is a strategic investment hub for West Africa, the Corporate Council on Africa said after talks with President Faure Gnassingbé in Lomé on Thursday.

The assessment was made by Florizelle Liser, chief executive of the U.S. business organization representing American and African companies.

Liser said investor interest in Togo is driven by several structural advantages, including its deep-water port and strategic location for regional trade.

We view Togo as a strategic investment hub for the West African region. The country has several advantages that make it a natural gateway to West Africa. We believe there are significant opportunities to strengthen trade,” Liser said.

She also praised Togo’s economic potential and growing role in the subregion, citing reforms implemented in recent years to improve the business climate and strengthen regional integration.

According to Liser, these developments could create new opportunities for economic cooperation between the United States and African countries, with Togo positioned to play a greater role in U.S.-Africa trade ties.

Discussions also focused on preparations for the next USA-Africa Business Summit, scheduled for July 2026 in Mauritius.
