Tjima DIABATE, the Executive Leading BSIC Togo's New Chapter

(Togo First) - Tjima DIABATE is the Chief Executive Officer of BSIC Togo since September 2024. An Ivorian banker, he brings more than 20 years of experience in West Africa's financial sector, with expertise in credit risk, exposure management and banking leadership.

He holds an MBA in Strategic Management and Economic Intelligence from the École de Guerre Économique (EGE) in Paris, as well as a postgraduate diploma from the Institut Technique de Banque de Paris (ITB-CFPB).

He began his career in 2004 at Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, where he served as Head of Clearing Operations and later as a Corporate Credit Analyst. He then joined Bridge Bank Group Côte d'Ivoire, where he worked from 2005 to 2009 as Head of Credit Administration before becoming Credit Risk and Exposure Manager.

He later joined BSIC Côte d'Ivoire, serving as Director of Legal Affairs, Debt Recovery and Litigation, with responsibility for risk management. He was subsequently promoted to Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ivorian subsidiary.

From that position, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of BSIC Togo as part of a leadership reorganization within the group.

Since taking office, he has launched an ambitious transformation plan for the Togolese subsidiary. As of the end of June 2025, BSIC Togo reported total assets of CFA 331 billion. The bank ranked sixth among Togo's 15 commercial banks, up from eighth place a year earlier.

Under his leadership, the bank has focused on strengthening its operational efficiency, enhancing risk governance and expanding its market presence in an increasingly competitive banking environment. The improvement in its ranking reflects the progress achieved through the implementation of the transformation strategy initiated since his appointment.
