(Togo First) - Togo’s Société d’Infrastructures Numériques (SIN) and ST DIGITAL have signed a strategic partnership to launch private cloud services at the Lomé Data Centre (LDC).
The agreement was signed on Tuesday in Lomé by SIN Director General Attia Byll and ST DIGITAL Togo Director General Justine Adebiyi. The companies said the partnership aims to strengthen Togo’s digital sovereignty and support the development of local digital services.
SIN operates the Lomé Data Centre, a Tier III-certified facility with a 99.982% service availability rate, according to the Uptime Institute. ST DIGITAL specializes in sovereign cloud solutions, artificial intelligence and software engineering in West Africa.
Under the agreement, local companies’ data will be hosted and processed in Togo. ST DIGITAL said the initiative aims to reduce reliance on foreign infrastructure while improving the security and control of strategic data.
The collaboration will focus on offering cloud and artificial intelligence services at competitive prices while strengthening local expertise through continuing education programs.
The two parties said they aim to position the Lomé Data Centre as a leading digital hub in West Africa. The new services are intended to strengthen Togo’s attractiveness to businesses while supporting the development of a stronger local digital ecosystem.
Byll said the partnership would help expand access to quality digital services. She said the objective is to enable both large companies and smaller organizations to access services suited to their needs and budgets.
“Our partnership with ST DIGITAL today is about ensuring that an individual or a company that cannot afford to rent half a rack or a full rack for data hosting can still access a suitable service through an affordable solution,” she said.
Adebiyi said the agreement goes beyond a commercial partnership. She said the cooperation could help position Togo as a regional model for digital transformation and data management.
ST DIGITAL operates in several countries across Central and West Africa, developing solutions focused on digital transformation, operational process optimization and cloud infrastructure.
