CEET to Temporarily Halt Cash Power Transactions for System Maintenance

(Togo First) - Purchases of prepaid electricity credits for Cash Power meters will be temporarily suspended in Togo during the night of June 24, 2026. The announcement was made by the Compagnie Énergie Électrique du Togo (CEET) in a statement issued on June 22.

According to the state-owned electricity distribution company, the suspension will run from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. as part of scheduled maintenance on the system used to process prepaid electricity purchases. During that period, customers will not be able to buy credits for their Cash Power meters.

CEET said services would be restored once the maintenance work is completed, allowing credit purchases to resume as normal. The company therefore advised customers to purchase sufficient electricity credit in advance to avoid disruptions during the maintenance period.

In Togo, Cash Power top-ups are mainly carried out through the Flooz and Mixx by Yas mobile money services, offered by Moov Africa Togo and Yas Togo, respectively. These digital platforms have made it easier for households and businesses to purchase electricity credits.

Introduced several years ago by CEET, the Cash Power system allows consumers to pay for electricity before using it. The prepaid model gives customers greater control over their energy spending and has become one of the most widely used electricity payment methods among the company's subscribers.
