Lomé to host on May 25-28, top-class meeting regarding SAAT’s establishment

(Togo First) - From May 25 to 28, a top-class meeting will be held regarding the Single African Air Transport Market (SAAT). The event will be co-organized by the African Union Commission (AUC) and the African Commission for Civil Aviation (ACCA).

The meeting will focus on implementation status of immediate measures related to the efficient operation of the market and on how to facilitate harmonization of bilateral air service agreements (BASA), between the market’s State-members.

In this framework, SAAT’s member-States are to have appropriate accreditation before a given BASA, a memorandum of understanding or any other related convention.

SAAT, let’s recall, was launched January 28, 2018, during the African Union Assembly’s 30th Summit.

At this occasion, Togo’s president, Faure Gnassingbé, had obtained the approval of many of his African peers to lead SAAT’s implementation.
