(Togo First) - International audit and advisory firm Deloitte has appointed Togolese executive Kodjo Akpatigbe as Managing Partner for Togo and Benin. He succeeds Maryse Adotevi, who had overseen the firm’s operations in Togo since 2014 and in Benin since 2023.
A chartered accountant and statutory auditor, Akpatigbe has 18 years of experience in audit and advisory services. He is registered with the professional accounting bodies of both Togo and Benin and specializes in financial institutions operating within the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU).
His expertise includes OHADA accounting standards, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), corporate governance, internal controls and prudential regulation. He has served as an Audit & Assurance Partner at Deloitte since 2023 and has contributed to the firm’s growth in Togo, Benin and Niger.
A Changing Business Environment
Akpatigbe’s appointment comes as West African companies face increasing pressure to strengthen regulatory compliance, accelerate digital transformation and improve corporate governance. A former commission chair at the National Association of Chartered Accountants and Certified Accountants of Togo (ONECCA-Togo), he also serves as the recently elected treasurer of the Association of Large Enterprises of Togo (AGET), which brings together several of the country’s leading private companies.
Akpatigbe said that throughout his career he had supported financial institutions, businesses and public-sector organizations navigating governance, transformation and performance challenges. He said he understood the responsibility that comes with the role at a time when companies, institutions and investors face increasingly complex challenges. He added that Deloitte has operated in Benin for more than 20 years and in Togo for more than a decade, and that the firm’s ambition is to deepen its local presence, strengthen relationships with economic stakeholders and continue supporting clients’ decision-making and long-term development projects.
In Benin and Togo, Deloitte provides audit, consulting, tax, legal, risk management and financial advisory services. The firm has previously participated in discussions on improving Togo’s business climate and supporting the country’s economic transformation.
Globally, Deloitte operates in more than 150 countries and territories and employs nearly 460,000 people. The network serves about 90% of Fortune Global 500 companies, making it one of the world’s leading audit and advisory firms.
