Togo Adjusts Toll Fees, Reducing Charges for Buses and Trucks

(Togo First) - Togo has lowered toll fees for several categories of commercial vehicles, reducing charges for buses and heavy trucks under a new interministerial order that took effect on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Toll fees for motorcycles, tricycles, passenger cars, and minibuses with 9 to 15 seats remain unchanged. However, buses and coaches will now pay CFA1,400 instead of CFA1,500.

The reductions also extend to heavy trucks, a major segment of road traffic in Togo. Two-axle trucks will now pay CFA2,400 instead of CFA2,500. The toll for three-axle vehicles and for four- and five-axle trucks has been reduced to CFA2,800 from CFA3,000. Six- and seven-axle trucks will pay CFA3,300, down from CFA3,500, while the rate for trucks with eight axles or more has been lowered to CFA4,700 from CFA5,000.

The toll reductions come days after the government raised retail fuel prices, a decision that prompted concern among transport operators and logistics companies. The lower tolls are intended to offset part of the additional costs facing transport operators following the fuel price increase. The measure could also help contain increases in freight and passenger transport costs by easing some of the pressure from higher fuel prices.
